Webdot Marketing uses flexible, powerful web technology platforms to deliver superior capabilities to clients at lower cost.

We have a preference for open-source platforms to avoid paying expensive licensing or subscription fees. However, where appropriate, we will use industry-leading paid services that deliver better functionality for lower cost for certain applications (e.g., eCommerce, email). We are also happy to use your preferred web technology tools, as well.

One of the key drivers of our technology choices is to ensure that clients do not feel locked into us as providers — we want you to stay with us because we do a great job for you, not because our technology holds you hostage.

Where many vendors will use proprietary technologies that you can only get from them, we do the opposite to give you more choices and flexibility.

WordPress

WordPress, which became well known as a bloggin platform, has become an excellent choice for building beautiful, functional websites for smaller businesses and organizations. WordPress may not be the most powerful web technology platform, but it has more than enough capability and functionality to meet the website development needs of many organizations.Wordpress also has the advantage of being relatively easier to use than some web publishing platforms and is already familiar to many of our clients.

Drupal

Drupal is a very powerful open-source web publishing platform. It is used by millions of websites around the world and has lately gained a very firm footing in the business and enterprise market.  Drupal is also widely used by government and non-profit organizations, e.g., WhiteHouse.gov.

Drupal has a wider range of functional capabilities than WordPress and it is also more extensible for handling specialized needs.

Constant Contact

Constant Contact is probably the most popular email marketing service used by small and medium sized organizations. It is used to create and manage email marketing and communications campaigns. We recommend Constant Contact because it is easy to use and provides excellent tools for designing emails, managing contacts, and tracking performance.

OpenX is a specialized ad serving platform that is used to publish ads on websites. OpenX is the leading open source ad server and is used on millions of websites worldwide. OpenX is a flexible, powerful platform that delivers ads accurately and securely.
